Scrivo questa lunga recensione per evitare che altri clienti acquistino questo adattatore che non rispecchia assolutamente le specifiche riportate sul prodotto. Premetto che ho provato 2 adattatori differenti, avendo chiesto ad Amazon la sostituzione del primo, ma in entrambi i casi ho rilevato quanto scritto nel titolo della recensione. Posseggo una linea in fibra Fastweb da 2, 5 Gbit (GPON) che, sottolineo per coloro che non la conoscessero, permette di arrivare alla velocità indicata solo mettendo in serie almeno 3 PC; per farla breve da un unico PC/LAPTOP si può scaricare al massimo ad 1 Gbit/s. Ho testato l'adattatore su 1 desktop Windows 7 (attraverso usb 3. 0) e su 2 Laptop Lenovo con a bordo Windows 10 aggiornato. Ho quindi aperto 1 ticket, poi diventati 2, alla D-LINK, per avere una spiegazione ed una soluzione al problema. Il 1° ticket è stato aperto il 10 Maggio 2021 ed ho fornito tutte le informazioni per poter analizzare il problema; RISULTATO: Come noterete i tempi sono biblici ma, se questi sono motivati da una situazione emergenziale Covid a Taiwan, tutto ciò che è accaduto nel mentre può trovare solo motivazione in una CATTIVA ORGANIZZAZIONE INTERNA!!! Sarei dovuto essere contento per questa conferma, invece sono rimasto senza parole. Finora con la D-Link mio ero trovato sempre bene ma, dopo questo increscioso acquisto e soprattutto la poca serietà del customer care (eccetto la persona che mi ha chiamato e che ho trovato molto professionale), non penso riacquisterò più altri prodotti di questa marca. Il ticket al momento in cui scrivo è ancora aperto in quanto dovrebbero comunicarmi se il problema, cui sono affetti questi adattatori, sia di tipo hardware o firmware. Fra l'altro attendo che la persona con cui ho parlato ieri al telefono (03/06/2021), riporti nel ticket ciò che mi ha confermato da parte di Taiwan (ossia che il prodotto non rispecchia il target di download). Per ora ho aggiunto io un commento allo storico. Concludo dicendo che, qualora Amazon abbia bisogno del contenuto dello storico dei 2 ticket e della quindicina di mail ed allegati a loro inviati, sono pronto a fornire evidenza di tutto quanto ho affermato.
Con l'acquisto dell'adattatore sapevo a priori che non avrei mai potuto raggiungere i 2, 5 Gbit di banda, causa limite del mio gestore, ma ero certo di raggiungere 1 Gbit/s in download.
Uno dei 2 laptop è la workstation di punta della Lenovo: il Thinkpad P17 acquistato 2 mesi or sono. Su quest'ultima ho provato la velocità del DUB E250 collegandolo sia alle 2 porte USB-C Thunderbolt 3 che alla USB-C 3. 2 gen. 1.
I portatili/PC sono collegati direttamente al modem router Fastgate (FTTH 2, 5 Gbit) con cavo da 1 mt di cat. 8. 1 40Gbitps SFTP PIMF.
I risultati sono stati disastrosi come da screenshot allegato!
Per coloro che avranno voglia di leggere, farò al seguito una sintesi di quanto riportatovi:
mi hanno aperto loro di ufficio un secondo tk, non facendo assolutamente il "passaggio" delle informazioni che avevo fornito con il 1° ticket!!!
Il 2° ticket me lo hanno aperto il 12 Maggio 2021 ed è tuttora aperto; ovviamente nel mentre sono stato costretto a restituire ad Amazon il prodotto, per non rischiare di perdere i soldi.
In sintesi:
1) Mi hanno richiesto le stesse informazioni 2, 3, 4 volte a distanza di alcuni giorni, ignorando completamente che tutto ciò che continuavano a chiedermi era già presente nello storico del 1° o del 2° ticket; all'inizio quindi ho perso tempo a riscrivere e riallegare le stesse cose. ASSURDO!!! La chicca è arrivata un paio di giorni fa quando addirittura mi hanno richiesto che modello di Laptop usavo...
2) Hanno chiesto persino che modello di sk di rete stessi usando, a questo punto mi sono sentito veramente preso in giro. Cosa c'entrava il modello della sk di rete (premesso che sono 4 distribuite su desktop e laptop) quando il problema non è la velocità della mia sk di rete, ma piuttosto il loro adattatore RJ45 to USB-C 3. 0???
3) Ieri sono stato contattato dal servizio di 2° livello, da una persona che devo riconoscere essere stata molto gentile, il quale, telefonicamente, mi ha confermato che il team di Taiwan aveva rilevato le mie stesse velocità: molto basse e parecchio inferiori a quanto dichiarato sulla confezione.
Come si può immettere sul mercato un prodotto dichiarando che abbia certe specifiche quando invece non le ha? Vendere un prodotto con specifiche false è un fatto molto grave!
I casi sono solo 2:
O è stato immesso volutamente pensando di ingannare il cliente (anche se sinceramente non saprei come, visto che chiunque avrebbe fatto un test di velocità),
Oppure è stato immesso sul mercato senza aver effettuato preventivamente uno straccio di test.
Da parte mia sono pronto ad integrare questa recensione qualora effettivamente il prodotto dovesse in futuro funzionare, ma l'unico modo che avrebbero, sarebbe spedirmi, LORO, un prodotto tester da provare... Chiaramente non ho nessuna intenzione di riacquistare per la 3° volta lo stesso articolo su Amazon e poi rischiare di doverlo nuovamente restituire.

TL;DR Details… First off, in Big Sur, there is a default Apple driver that will work but only give 1Gb speeds. D-Link provide a driver that claims to unlock faster speeds for MacOS 10. 9+ and a separate one for 10. 8 (Their website actually states that the MacOS install package is for iOS which also raises questions about D-Link and their knowledge of the Apple ecosystem) Realtek themselves do not claim that the drivers work with MacOS 11. These drivers may well work for old MacOS versions but they do not work for Big Sur (11. x) as Apple severely limited the ability for vendors to add their own drivers. What actually happens in Big Sur is that the installer package claims to have completed successfully but has in fact done nothing and you will be left still using the default Apple driver running at a maximum of 1Gb. Enter Monterey (12. 0) - Apple has now provided a new default driver and 2. 5Gb speed are available with simple plug and play ease of use! Wonderful. However…. throughout all of this there is another annoying issue. Less critical, but annoying; if you restart the machine with the adapter plugged in it will not be recognised on restart. You will need to physically remove it and reinsert it for the OS to recognise that it is there and start using it. Depending on your circumstances this can be extremely annoying. It is for me with my clamshell desktop setup. All of this is true whether inserted directly into my 2018 MacBook Pro or into the attached CalDigit TB3 dock. Simply avoid. (As of 5 Nov 2021 - Monterey out for just a few days)
This does not work properly on Macs - buy something different that does not use a Realtek chip.
This device uses the Realtek 8156 chip which is the 2. 5 Gbe capable model from a range of RTL815x chips.
You can see it has done nothing by reading the supplied uninstall shell script and working backwards to the files that should have been there to remove. They aren’t there.

I originally bought this hub to add extra USB2 ports to my rather old and creaky Windows XP PC which I use for legacy software reasons. As expected when the hub was connected it was recognised by XP and installed without any problems what-so-ever (no additional driver needed). However when it come to actually using the hub some of the devices that I connected, namely a 3. 5” USB Floppy Drive (yessss, I know!! ) and a rather old USB Freecom Toughdrive had problems. In both instances the devices would periodically (and quite often) disconnect and then re-connect while in use. Other devices such as Mice, Keyboards, Trackballs, USB Pen Drives, Printers, and indeed the hub it’s self, would stay connected without any problem. I had a feeling that the problem lay more with my PC than the hub it’s self since these problems with the Floppy Drive and the Toughdrive would arise even if connected directly to my PC USB ports (one of the reasons for buying this hub in the first place). I therefore put my problems down to experience and decided disconnect the hub from my PC and put it into storage. However some months ago I built myself a new Ryzen based PC running 64bit Windows 10 Pro and decided to give this USB hub another go and I have to say that, so far, it has performed brilliantly. Obviously installation on Windows 10 was completely painless and any device which I connect to the hub, including the aforementioned USB Floppy Drive and the Toughdrive, run perfectly without any problems at all. The hub it’s self has so far proved totally reliable with no drop-outs or disconnects, despite having being powered-up pretty well permanently for the last 7 months or so. The fast charge ports work fine and come in handy when it comes to charging phones and tablets. Should things change for the worse I will update my review and rating accordingly but as of this moment I am more than happy to award this good quality, compact, neat and reasonably priced USB2 hub a five star rating – at least when connected to a Windows 10 based PC! I bought this product as I needed additional USB ports on my Mac Pro and I wanted something that was more reliable for use with several bus powered hard drives. There are plenty of USB hubs to choose from, and whilst there are now USB 3 hubs with additional features such as lights and on/off switches I understand that many of these can be unreliable when using USB hard drives. I am happy to say that this product functions perfectly. I am using several external hard dives, some bus powered, and all work perfectly all the time. I am also using a wireless mouse adapter and a keyboard and have experienced no issues whatsoever. The device itself is very neat and compact, especially given the fact that there are 7 ports. The bottom of the device has little rubber feet which prevent it from slipping and sliding around on my desk which is a very nice touch. The included cable to connect this to the computer is a decent length however the power cable which is also included is fairly short. This was not a major issue for me but might be something to consider. Two of the ports are dedicated for charging and I use these to charge my Nintendo 3DS and my Bluetooth headphones, again this works perfectly and I have had no issues at all. Overall this is an excellent product if you are looking for something functional and reliable and DLink are an excellent brand to choose for these types of products, I have previously purchased networking equipment by them and have always found it to be of excellent quality as well.

Nie można załadować treści. Was a very nice little hub, I wanted this hidden out of the way using retractable cables, at first it was excellent, charging times matched my previous fast charger, plug in my phone or tablet and from 0 to 100% charge said 2 hours'ish which I was very happy with but I noticed it seemed to take longer and longer but still said 2 hours to fully charge when plugging my phone in, I then noticed, if I plug the phone it it would say 2 hours to charge but if I checked the screen a few minutes later it had changed to 7 hours, my tablet went up to 12 hours, tried different cables and different devices but it did the same on all. My normal charger works fine with any cable so I have returned this hub.
